Having a history of dance and knowing how difficult it is to pursue
a career in the entertainment industry, somewhere along the way,
Kristen decided to help dancers
achieve their goals to become professional dancers. She wanted to
lend her heart and hand out to those that are not as fortunate as
her.
Kristen Marshall grew up in Santa Maria, California. At the young age of six,
she found her love for dance, taking jazz, tap, and ballet at a local studio.
In her free time, she would volunteer for local dance and cheer camps, even assisting
Lisa Estrada, director of the Los Angeles Laker Girls.
Upon graduation, she chose to attend Allan Hancock, a local Community College
that holds one of the best dance programs in California. The dance program at
Hancock has two shows a year including a summer show held at Disneyland. Kristen
also was a part of the Super Bowl XXXII pre-game show in San Diego. She studied
Political Science at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, then moved to Los Angeles
to pursue a career in acting.
She soon found that she enjoyed choreography as well, her work includes: Disneyland
Music Days, The Santa Barbara County Fair Queen Pageants, The Righetti High School
Dance Team and Dancescape in Hollywood.
Feeling that dance is the most difficult, challenging and under rated art out
there, Kristen is a supporter of the arts and would like to not only be of financial
assistance, but a mentor to these “struggling” dancers. She knows
what it is like to be turned down at auditions, frustrated in class, injured
and the pressure to look perfect physically. She has an eye for talent, passion,
dedication and would like to use these skills to help make a difference. She
knows her and Ben will make this amazing thing called The Passion for Dance Project
a success and bring one more dancer closer to making their dreams a reality.
